Review
I am a huge fan of Lemony Snicket. I began reading his Series of Unfortunate Events in my late teens and I fell in love with his characters Sunny, Violet, and Klaus and their tales of misfortune. I was at work a couple of days ago and saw a young boy checking out Horseradish and I couldn’t help but find a second copy.
This book is filled with witty, thought-provoking quotes about the misfortunes and truths people have to face in their lives. Some are even pulled from his other books. I’ve added a few of my favorites below.

I have always enjoyed the voice that Snicket uses in his writing. His warnings against his books compel you to read them further. It’s funny, dark and interesting. I love the way that he connects nuggets of wisdom with the most absurd notions. For example, he’s the only one that I know that could connect fate and an unpopular restaurant.
It is definitely a book that I wish I had found sooner. If I did, maybe I some of my misfortunes wouldn’t have come to be. Then again would I be the same person? Would that new person have created this blog because they no longer have the misfortunes of the previous person? If not, then how would you all know that the new version of myself’s life was changed because of this book?! Hmmm…
Those are the types of questions that this book make you pose.
Even though it is considered a children’s book, I would suggest everyone take some time to read it.
